Hood River, Oregon native Rob Daugherty has always been passionate about animals and nature. His former Law Enforcement career along the Columbia River gave him the opportunity to view wildlife from land, sea, and air further inspired him to capture the landscapes and wildlife he encountered on a daily basis. From photographing Bald Eagles in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge to the landscapes of the Oregon coastline and capturing the wildlife of the breathtaking Mt Hood National Forest, the foundation for wildlife was laid for what would become his life’s passion.
Rob uses photography to freeze his subject's vulnerable moments in time. He has mastered waiting for “The Shot” that leaves viewers with a deep appreciation for nature and its wonders; from the birth of a Bison calf to watching a grizzly bear mother teach her cubs how to forage.
As an international photographer, Rob has experienced places and cultures that have humbled and instilled an even greater appreciation for the world in which we live. His international travels include: Tanzania, South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, and China.
Rob's gift of story telling and evoking emotion through his lens has been featured by National Geographic's photo of the day and several magazine publications. Wildlife conservation and protection continue to be a vital part of who he is.
